Anti Spam Filter
What does Insufficient Maturity mean?
Spam is one of the worst aspects of traditional email.
EtherMail is working on many features to help you combat spam and to prevent our community from fake accounts and bots.
The Maturity Filter is one of them, so let's see how it works.
Once your wallet is connected, you'll be able to access your EtherMail Inbox and receive emails.
But you won't be able to immediately send emails because first your account has to be checked and confirmed to ensure that it is not a fake account.
To confirm the authenticity of the account, EtherMail users need to meet certain requirements.
At this current stage, the only requirement is for users to have executed transactions on the blockchain in order to be able to send emails.
This is our first layer of Spam protection: it is very unlikely that a bot will transact on the blockchain because of the gas fees involved and even if they did it would quickly be blacklisted and rate limited thus discouraging this type of misuse.
Preventing our users from Spam is one of EtherMail core goals, so in the future releases we're adding more requirements to the list, such as account creation date, having EMC balance, and more.
We are constantly improving our spam filtering system, but some spam messages may slip through our filters. If you are still getting spam, emailsupport@ethersuite.io with reporting details of the spam messages. Our team will take a closer look at it and try to resolve the issue while improving the experience for everyone
